Teen Driver Dies in One-Vehicle Accident
Franklin County, IN – A 16-year-old driver from Liberty, Indiana, lost his life in a single-vehicle accident on Thursday, April 10, 2025. The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on the 5000 block of Highland Center Road in Franklin County.
What Happened?
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the teen was driving a 2001 Ford F-250 pickup truck southbound on Highland Center Road when he went off the right side of the road for unknown reasons. He overcorrected and the truck crossed the road and went off the east side over an embankment. The truck rolled several times, and the teen, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck. He was pronounced dead en route to the hospital. WRBI Radio

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Indiana State Police, Indiana State Excise Police, the Brookville and New Trenton Volunteer Fire Departments, the Franklin County Coroner’s Office, and Letts EMS. They worked together to investigate and get to the scene quickly.
