Tragic Car Crash During Spring Break: 3 Mass High School Seniors Killed
Walton County, FL – A terrible car accident during spring break has taken the lives of three Massachusetts high school seniors and left a fourth critically injured. The accident happened in Walton County, Florida.
What Happened
The four students, all 18-year-old seniors from Concord-Carlisle High School, were in an SUV driven by Jimmy McIntosh. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the SUV hit a tractor-trailer that was making a U-turn in the median. The SUV crossed the median and both eastbound lanes, ending up in the woods off the highway.

McIntosh and passenger Hannah Wasserman were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other passengers, Maisey O’Donnell and an unnamed student, were taken to Bay Medical Center in Panama City in critical condition. Sadly, O’Donnell passed away. The fourth student is still in critical condition.
The Cause
The accident happened when the SUV hit a tractor-trailer making a U-turn in the median of U.S. Highway 98. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating. It’s unclear whether all passengers were wearing seatbelts. McIntosh was wearing a seatbelt, but the status of the other passengers’ seatbelts is unknown.
Community Response
The Concord-Carlisle High School community is in shock. Superintendent Dr. Laurie Hunter said, “The Concord-Carlisle High School community has learned of a terrible car accident in Florida last night. Two seniors, Jimmy McIntosh and Hannah Wasserman, passed away in the accident. We offer our deepest condolences to the families and friends of Hannah and Jimmy during this impossible time.” She later confirmed O’Donnell’s passing as well. Counselors will be available for students and staff to support them in processing the tragedy. The school has scheduled counseling sessions and is providing resources for those affected.
O’Donnell was a state diving champion and was planning to attend Williams College. Wasserman was kind and compassionate. A GoFundMe has been established for Wasserman’s family to assist with funeral expenses.
