2 Killed, 1 Arrested in 3-Vehicle Crash on US-80 in Mesquite
Mesquite, TX – A three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 80 in Mesquite resulted in two fatalities and one arrest Tuesday evening, April 30, 2025. The wreck closed all westbound lanes and multiple eastbound lanes for several hours.
What Happened
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on the westbound side of US-80 near Galloway Avenue. Mesquite police said a vehicle was traveling too fast and struck another car, which then flipped over the median and into oncoming traffic. The flipped vehicle was then hit by a third vehicle traveling eastbound.
Two people in the flipped vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released pending notification of next of kin. The driver of the car that caused the initial crash was arrested at the scene. No charges have been filed yet, but the investigation is ongoing.
